The Learning Centre at Grace Orphanage is finally complete and we are so excited that the first 10 women have just started their program (see below). The program will teach widows and single moms to read, basic math skills, and after 4 months, add the teaching of business principles. The 12-month program will end with a micro business loan to help each of the women start her own business. Above are 8 of the first 10 women and their children, who will be fed and taken care of during lesson time. 4 of these women are fully sponsored by generous donors at $70 per month. We are trusting for 6 more donors to step forward to sponsor the remaining 6 women.

Construction on House #4 Completed

We are so humbled by the generosity of our donors. An amazing family donated the funds to build house number 4 at the orphanage. The team is working on inside finishing, with the aim being to have the house completed early in 2023. We are excited to start the process to take 16 more children off the street and give them a loving home.  We know that we cannot change the world, but we can change the world for these 16 children.

From Street Kids to University Students

Sadiki was taken into Grace Orphanage at the age of 8. His father was captured by soldiers while hunting. His mother went to look for her husband and was never seen again. Sadiki was in a desperate state, malnourished, with no family, and without hope when Grace Ministries found him. That was 11 years ago.

His life changed when Grace Orphanage took him in, and through the generosity of our donors, he received a loving home, nutritious food, and an education. He graduated from secondary school in 2020 and is currently studying Business at a local university. His dream is to help at the orphanage with all business activities. Truly a life transformed through kindness.

Nyemya did not know much of her history when Grace Orphanage found her on the street 10 years ago. She lost both parents in a tribal conflict.

Now Nyemya is studying Community Health and Development and hopes to serve the community around Grace Orphanage when she qualifies. Transformation – one life at a time.

Taking Care of Our Caretakers

Since the start of this project, it was always on the hearts of the IWOF board to take care of the caretakers. We have just started our second staff house on the existing orphanage land. This will enable both David and Hosea (the founding members of Grace Orphanage) with their families, to live in a safe house with no threat of flooding as they have experienced in their current houses over the past 3 years of heavy rains.
