Congratulations are in order to our 2021 high school graduates Mwanebana, Nyemya, and Musa. After passing the National Exams, they will start attending University in January, equipping them for a bright future! Without the support of our donors and the care and quality of education they have all received under the care of Grace Orphanage, their futures undoubtedly would have looked much different.
MWANEBANA SADIKI

Born in Muranvia, Sadiki’s father was captured by soldiers while hunting in KahuziBiega National Park . His mother went to look for her husband and was never seen again. An old sick woman in the village was trying to care for Sadiki, when Grace Ministries found him. Fast forward 9 years and he is now a handsome young man, who has just graduated from school and will start studying Business at a local university. He wants to help at the orphanage when he graduates.
NYEMYA GASTON

Born in Misisi village, Nyemya lost both her parents during the Makonola tribal conflict. Nyemya does not know anything more about her past. She lived hungry and destitute on the streets until she was found by Grace Orphanage 8 years ago. Nyemya just graduated from high school and will be studying Social Development at university.
MUSA NGWENYA

Born in Kasenga, Uvira, his mother was killed after being raped by soldiers. 2 years later his father died from Diabetes. He then lived with a friend of his mother who also died sometime later. Musa has been in the care of Grace Orphanage since 2012.
Musa has just graduated from school and you will usually find him tinkering with some electronic device, whether trying to repair an old radio, fixing someone’s cell phone, wiring a house, or helping install solar at Grace Orphanage. He will soon start a coop work term with a solar company in Bujumbura to further develop his skills. His plan is to start his own electrical and solar business in Uvira.
Here We "Grow" Again: Next House Needed To Bring New Orphans In
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our main fundraising event – Party For a Purpose was cancelled in 2020 and 2021. Our plan was to raise funds for a fourth house that will enable us to take 12 more kids off the streets of Uvira.
Imagine being a young girl living on the street, with no safe place to sleep and not knowing where your next meal will come from. Now imagine you are invited to become part of the Grace Orphanage family, with your own bed, 3 meals per day and the opportunity to go to school and maybe one day, university like Nyemya.
Thanks to the incredible support of our donors who stepped up in a big way, we were able to fund the first 3 houses, currently home to 33 war orphans. Would you join us again and become life changers in the one of the poorest countries in the world?
